Equity Testing

EQUITY TESTING:

Focusing upon the 5th through 8th grade academic years, families will be able to obtain an independent assessment of academic skills gaps (or strengths) their children may have in English Language/Grammar-Usage skills, reading comprehension, and in basic math skills.

The tests are NOT statistically validated (yet). However, the key ones have been produced by extremely experienced and knowledgeable experts who have produced carefully constructed assessments that will give you an independent resource to help you better understand the explicit challenges and that your children may need some direct advocacy at the campus or district level.

The ELA tests focus upon basic language skills including punctuation, capitalization, usage, and other skills. They were written by an experienced ELA teacher and independently reviewed by other experts. The math tests are based upon credible national standards of what 5th grade through middle school students should know in terms of basic skills. These assessments were written by a superiorly qualified math expert whose skills includes a master’s degree from Cambridge University in the UK as a Marshall Scholar and a PhD from Duke in decision sciences – statistics.

The reading comprehension component of the ELA tests is pulled directly from the public domain but has been carefully selected by our experts as very useful to you. Importantly, our team has added an actual writing assignment for additional analysis.

Here’s the goal: provide you with independent information about your student’s skills or skill gaps to give you the ability to effectively communicate with your child’s educators or to evaluate the effectiveness of current strategies that are in use for your child.

Contact us through our email website if you are interested in discussing this. The tests will be available soon.
